Cast and Crew

GOH JUNYI (DHARMA WIT/ SET AND PROPS TEAM / CHORUS)
As a first-year student in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences without as yet a major to his name, Junyi is glad to have decided to dabble in something different by participating in “The West Wing.” He has always pondered on what it would feel like to be on the other side of that fourth wall. Now he comes alive behind it as the silly but sincere Dharma Wit who, according to the actor himself, is a breeze to play since he is merely tapping into his own inner Dharma. If everything goes smoothly, there is a high probability of his majoring in Theatre Studies after this production.

DAPHNE BOI (ZITHER BOY)
Daphne is a second-year Theatre Studies major. This is her maiden performance, the first time that people are paying to watch her (and not vice versa). She is extremely honoured to be part of a production where her voice and physique are suited to the character of a boy, and a charming one, no less. She likes to think that without his Zither Boy, Zhang would be nothing.
CINDY MOY (CHORUS MANAGER / MONK / CHORUS / SET AND PROPS TEAM)
Cindy is a first-year Sociology major. “The West Wing” marks her first foray into theatre, which is sehr interessant. Her previous performing experiences were directing and acting in short skits for her church. Being in “The West Wing” has been a great privilege and learning experience, albeit a perilous one. [She is the shyest "monk" in the Chorus since she is the only one who has ever presented a song for consideration, with her back to the entire company.]

JEAN TEO (CHORUS/MUSIC TEAM)
My role in this production is mostly a musical one. I am in this production as a chorus singer as I have had experience singing in the choir. I am also helping out as a rehearsal pianist for chorus practices and arranging some of the songs which require parts. This is my final semester in NUS, and I am really glad I have the chance to participate in this production with so many dedicated and talented people. I am looking forward to being a *singing monk* on stage, and I hope everyone will enjoy our performance!
DAWN MARIE QUEK (CHORUS)
Dawn is part of a team which will appear intermittently on stage and burst out in song. Dawn was part of the main cast in her church's musical, Born To Shine in 2007. She has also done Front of House for Dim Sum Dollies: History of Singapore and ushered for Theatreworks' production, 120.

JEN LI SHENG (BENEVOLENT SIGHT / CHORUS / SET AND PROPS TEAM)
Jen is a second-year Theatre Studies major. He has acted in a few church productions, but nothing as big or as exhaustingas “The West Wing.” He initially wanted to be a Social Work major, but after getting “A” for his first Theatre Studies module, and falling asleep during his Social Work lectures, he decided to switch. He loves to hit the gym five to six times a week. Winner of the Strongman Challenge in March, 2008, he is one of the strongest men in Singapore!
[Benevolent Sight ROCKS. Period. He is the typical musclehead in any ensemble: always raring to go, one who would rather fight than talk. He enjoys a good rock song anytime, and is full of contradictions. Pretty much like Jen.]

RAYMOND TAN (CHORUS/SET TEAM)
Raymond (Tan) is a second year student at NUS majoring in Theatre Studies and Drama. His passion lies with both film and the stage, and hopes to eventually go into film production or writing. Right now he is enjoying his course of study in NUS, working hard towards this goal of his, failing which he'll probably end up a starving artiste.
NIMRTA KAUR (PRODUCTION MANAGER/ DHARMA SOURCE)
Nim is a third year undergraduate majoring in Theatre Studies at the National University of Singapore. In NUS she finally rediscovered and rekindled her long loving passion for the Arts which had taken a back seat to other ventures. She has now embraced it wholeheartedly and does not plan on abandoning it anytime soon. With the passion and desire to succeed in pursuing a degree that she well and truly loves, she has gone from strength to strength.
